CLINICAL OVERVIEW

Aspiro clinical staff members are highly dedicated and trained individuals.

Upon arriving at Aspiro Base Camp, and during the orientation phase, all students receive a behavioral and physical assessment prior to their first adventure.

All clinical staff members have successfully completed and passed an extensive background check. Aspiro also maintains a two-on-one practice, never allowing a staff member and student to be alone. Your teen's safety is our foremost concern. In order to ensure your teen's safety, all staff members have been trained in CPR, first aid, and outdoor living skills. Additionally, the clinical staff participates in weekly service training.

Our progressive treatment philosophy centers on the value of the therapeutic relationship between staff and student.

Our clinical staff provides caring, consistent, and honest communication and connection with each of our students. We take our responsibility very seriously when working with your young adolescent. The outdoor setting provides a distraction free and nurturing atmosphere in which students can begin to heal from anger, depression, drug use, and family conflicts.

Students may face fears and feel vulnerable during their experience, and for every decision they make and every struggle they overcome, a wiser child emerges. Our experienced and fully licensed therapists employ proven methods and techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, reality therapy, person-centered therapy,  solution-focused therapy, and other beneficial approaches. Students have the opportunity to earn academic credits during their adventure at Aspiro.

Our students see that we truly care about them as individuals and are dedicated to their success.

Students are encouraged to embrace all family differences, grieve losses, and work towards long lasting change. Because students are in small single sex groups, individualized treatment plans are tailored to the unique needs of each teen and their family. Behavioral, emotional, physical and social changes are all intertwined and the structure of the wilderness setting is beneficial in making these clear to the student.

A parents testimonial

"Never in a million years did I think my daughter would be involved in the things she was involved in.  I felt for and comforted my friends that had kids that were involved with drugs.  How could this be, my daughter was now involved in drugs and other things.  It was not an easy decision for us to send our daughter to Aspiro, but we realized we were loosing her.  We had tried everything we know how to do and needed help to try and reach her.  We made the decision to send her to Aspiro and are grateful that we did.  At Aspiro our daughter experienced, first-hand those things we tried to teach her in our home.  In her own words, "it was the hardest most  rewarding experience I have ever had."

Her Aspiro experience taught her many things, most importantly, it taught her she could rely on herself, her parents and her God for help.  The Aspiro Adventure experience will always be a source of strength for her as she is faced with trials in her life.  Our daughter will remember the trials she faced, and how she over came them in the wilderness."
