Clinical Criteria

The following behaviors, challenges and issues are very common in some or all of our struggling teen students who are enrolled at Aspiro or Vantage Point.

The depth, longevity and severity of your student's current behaviors, challenges and issues will be fully assessed to determine whether placement in Aspiro or Vantage Point is appropriate.

  • Anxiety Disorder

  • Behavioral Difficulties

  • Chemical Dependency

  • Emotional Difficulties

  • Impulse Control Disorder

  • Learning Differences

  • Low Self-Esteem

  • Mood Disorders

  • Oppositional Disorder

  • Parent/Child Conflicts

  • Passive Aggressive

  • Reactive Attachment

  • School Related Difficulties

  • Specific Developmental Disorders

  • Substance Abuse

Aspiro operates year-round and application for admission may take place at any time.

Appropriate candidates are adolescent males and females, ages 13-17, and young adults, ages 18 to 30 years of age, with a history of moderate to soft behavioral and emotional challenges and problems.

Exclusions

There are a number of behavioral, emotional and psychiatric conditions that may preclude admission. Aspiro's clinical treatment team will evaluate each students application in order to carefully evaluate and ensure the right fit to meet your family's needs. The following conditions may warrant further evaluation before accepting a student:

  • Antisocial Personality Disorder

  • Dissociative Disorder

  • Extreme Suicide Risk

  • History of or tendency toward violence

  • Intermittent Explosive Disorder

  • Personality Disorders

  • Psychosis

  • Severe Chronic Depression

  • Severe, active eating disorders

  • Severe self-mutilation
